Some three years ago NBC 7/39 made the decision to move its operation to downtown San Diego. After several years of planning we were able to complete the move just over a year ago. It has been a fantastic experience! We feel we are giving our audience a unique television viewing experience by using the vibrancy of downtown as our backdrop. It also lends itself to having many outdoor events within the studio's reach that can play out in our broadcasts in an exciting and colorful way. And the locale is an energy source for our employees.

Being on the pulse point of the entire San Diego region, I believe, has energized the station employees and you can feel it on the work they do behind the scenes and in front of the camera on our programs. Being a part of the downtown experience has truly helped us to become San Diego's Hometown Station.

Austin Veum Robbins Parshalle (AVRP) made the decision to move it’s corporate headquarters to downtown San Diego’s, One America Plaza in 1999 from Sorrento Valley. As San Diego’s largest architecture, interior design and engineering firm, we believed it would benefit our employees and clients to be close to public transportation, cultural attractions, Lindbergh Field, hotels, shopping, entertainment and dining. The move to San Diego’s growing downtown has definitely improved our employee’s energy, moral and commuting time. Many of our employees have even purchased residences downtown.
